چکیده
Abstract With its communication “Sustainable Carbon Cycles”, the European Commission has opened a new chapter in climate policy. For first time, natural and artificial CO 2 capture storage technologies are to be covered jointly an overarching regulatory approach. This article reviews techno-economic potentials of application fields envisaged by Commission’s strategy, defines central requirements for future funding framework. The establishment markets carbon credits is identified as basis commercialising solutions. However, prerequisite efficient trading create transparency about impact technology alternatives. Efforts improve existing measurement concepts test procedures well development certified standards decisive steps on this path. time horizon sequestration should crucial aspect certification monitoring. Double unnecessary subsidisation activities that already profitable today need avoided.

15 صفحه اولCutting the cost of carbon capture: a case for carbon capture and utilization.
A significant part of the cost for carbon capture and storage (CCS) is related to the compression of captured CO2 to its supercritical state, at 150 bar and typically 99% purity. These stringent conditions may however not always be necessary for specific cases of carbon capture and utilization (CCU). In this manuscript, we investigate how much the parasitic energy of an adsorbent-based carbon c...

Introduction Elastic layered metal-organic framework (ELM) adsorbents exhibit a flexible two-dimensional latent porous crystalline structure. ELMs undergo abrupt reversible gated sorption transitions from an empty collapsed structure to a filled expanded porous state through cooperative adsorption of guest molecules between layer planes. Gated adsorption has been observed for methane, nitrogen,...
متن کاملThe Cost of Carbon Capture
We have conducted a detailed analysis of costs associated with today’s technology for CO2 separation and capture at three types of power plants: integrated coal gasification combined cycles (IGCC), pulverized coal-fired simple cycles (PC), and natural gas-fired combined cycles (NGCC). The analysis was based on studies from the literature that analyzed the economics of capturing CO2 emitted at p...
